Meet the Houston, PA Voodoo Brewing Co. Team!

Meet the Team at the Houston, PA
Voodoo Brewing Co. Franchise Location!

new voodoo brewing co franchise owners Nathan & Aubrey McCutcheon, Jason & Joanna Joseph
We have something great to share with you: we got not only two but four new members of the Voodoo Brewing Co. family! Meet Nathan and Aubrey McCutcheon. They just opened up a new Voodoo Brewing franchise location in Houston, Pennsylvania, with their good friends Jason and Joanna Joseph.

Voodoo craft brewing has a team-first mentality, and they are living proof that beer is better with friends.

Let’s meet the new team!

Hard work pays off

Nathan felt like he’s always understood the hard work and dedication needed to own a business. Growing up, his family had a family-owned business and took on the hard work mentality at an early age. “After college, I took on a few jobs before settling back into the family business of waste management solutions. I have worked through almost every aspect of the company, washing trucks, driving trucks, working in the field, inventory management, assets and mergers, and Vice President to name a few.”

Nathan has always considered himself an entrepreneur. Even though he never owned the family business, it was an integrated part of his experience that has pushed him and his wife to pursue their passion of owning a franchise. “We were looking for something different, outside of that business that was ours. Partnering with amazing people (Jason and Joanna) also made us want to do it even more.”

Four is better than one

With his experience and the support of Aubrey, Jason, and Joanna: we knew that these four would do great things with Voodoo. What sets these four apart from others is how much they feed off of the energy of others. When we asked them what makes them think they’ll be successful with Voodoo, they shared. “People, People, People! Every great organization can only get so far on the greatness of one person but can move mountains with a great team. With great attitude comes great success, and that is what we are looking for in our team members, and that’s what we found in Voodoo!”

They all live out the Voodoo name. Partnering with their close friends to turn their passions into a reality that they can share with others.

Discovering the Voodoo business model

We sat down with Nathan and his partners about how they first discovered Voodoo Brewing. He shared with us, “We were looking for different business ideas on BizBuySell, and Voodoo Brewing Company came up as looking for Franchisees. We had Voodoo beer in the past but didn’t know about the brewpubs.”

There were reasons they believed Voodoo brewing was a good choice for them. One of the biggest reasons was the Voodoo business model. “I like the fact that they help us through every aspect of the operation to make sure that we are doing it right. At the end of the day, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. They are true partners in the process.”

Meeting the Voodoo corporate team

We had the opportunity to meet Nathan and his partners in person at our Discovery Day. We knew right off the bat that they were a good fit for Voodoo, and they shared the same sentiment. Nathan told us meeting the corporate team, “…was really the biggest reason why we decided to team with Voodoo. We meshed very well from the first conversation to our time on D-Day. After meeting Matteo and Jake, we said to each other, “These are the people we want to be associated with.”

Their advice to future franchise owners

Considering becoming a franchise owner? Here’s their advice.

“To do this right, it takes time. I thought at the beginning that I could get open quickly and rush to open, but you can’t. Even owning the building prior took time. Be patient as it will be worth it in the long term. All in all, Take the Dive! Join the Family, our Voodoo Family. At least that’s how I see it, a family.”

Now it’s your turn!

If you’re looking for a sign to start your own franchise, let Nathan, Aubrey, Jason, and Joanna be the ones that help make the decision easier! We can’t wait to see what these four accomplish together. They are a force to be reckoned with, and we know that they will leave their mark on the community of Houston, Pennsylvania.

When you join Voodoo Brewing Co, you’re doing more than just owning your own franchise. You’re joining a community of individuals with the same passion and drive as you! You can rest assured knowing that you always have the corporate Voodoo team to lean on with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the process.

Meet New Owners: Megan and Garrett Rose

Meet New Owners: Megan and Garrett Rose

Meet New Brewpub Franchise Owners: Megan and Garrett Rose!

new voodoo brewing co franchise owners megan and garrett rose
The Voodoo Brewing team is growing! We’re happy to welcome Megan and Garett Rose with open arms and can’t wait to see what they accomplish in Boise, Idaho.

This couple is passionate about staking their claim in the craft beer industry, but don’t be fooled: This couple isn’t new to the hustle and bustle of restaurant and brewery life. Megan has been working in the bar industry for the last 6 years. Outside of work, she’s a stay-at-home mom. Garrett has been at an employee-owned equipment rental company for the last 12 years, and both of them were ready for a new adventure, so they came to Voodoo Brewing, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Let’s take a closer look at this couple and see why they chose to open their very own Voodoo brewery franchise location.

    Who are Megan and Garrett?

Megan and Garrett are a happy and inspiring couple located in Boise, Idaho. They spend most of their time camping and traveling. Whenever they get an opportunity to go to a new location, they love eating and drinking at new places. Every time they explore somewhere new, they make sure to find a place they can eat, drink, and enjoy each other’s company. These are the moments that matter most to us, and we love seeing Megan and Garrett gravitate toward these moments together.

When Megan and Garrett aren’t traveling the world, you can find Megan watching her favorite reality shows and Garrett watching sports.

Outside of their hobbies and interests, they are both driven individuals who want to do everything they can to succeed. During our interview with them, they shared with us that “Our drive to make our lives better by working hard and going and getting what we want.”

    How great is that?

The team at Voodoo Brewing Co. hopes to guide them closer to their goals and turn their dreams into a reality.

    Choosing Voodoo Brewing Co. Franchise

Megan and Garett set out with a mission: to start their own franchise together. They aren’t the type of people to just talk to talk… they walk the walk! A quick Google search, and a few minutes later, they found Voodoo Brewing under “best franchises to start.”

What attracted them to the opportunity was the culture and the vibe that we’ve spent the last 17 years shaping and creating. “As a couple who love a good drink, it was an easy choice and we felt like the culture was a fit right away,” they said during an interview with our Voodoo team. I mean, can you blame them? The non-corporate vibe and laidback, easy-going mentality are what we’re all about! And we only hope to attract more couples and entrepreneurs like Megan and Garrett in the future.

What we love about Megan and Garrett is they were able to see that Voodoo brewing wasn’t just your average, conventional bar or pub. Our anti-franchise state of mind stood out to them and helped them find a home with Voodoo. “It’s not a cookie-cutter franchise with lots of corporate oversight. They give you the broad idea but let you execute how you see fit.”

    Experiencing Discovery Day

We got to meet Megan and Garrett at Discovery Day. During this experience, they got to put faces to names and sample our delicious Voodoo brewpub menu. (and drink our delicious beer, of course!)

They shared with us their “a-ha” moment when they knew Voodoo was the right choice. “It was actually at a bar in Denver. We were having a blast when we knew we wanted to do something similar. After Discovery Day, we knew for sure Voodoo was what we wanted.” That’s also when we knew they would be the perfect fit for our franchise.

Megan and Garrett can’t wait to open their first beer franchise location.

At the end of our interview, we asked them what their advice was to prospective franchise owners. They kept it simple (just how we like it!) and said, go to Discover Day. We couldn’t agree more. The connections you make through the Discovery Day experience will give you the confidence to open up your first franchise and set yourself up for success.

With Voodoo craft brewing, it’s as easy as it sounds. We’re here to help you every step of the way because we know how nerve-racking it can be to take the plunge and open up your first franchise location. (We started as a single brewery in Meadville, PA back in 2005!)

Why this Summer will be the busiest ever for Franchise Owners

Why this Summer will be the busiest ever for Franchise Owners

Why this Summer will be the busiest ever for Franchise Owners

The last few years have been a rough ride for the restaurant industry. The COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench in many plans and provided unprecedented challenges over the past few years. In 2021, restaurants in the U.S. provided over 11.3 million jobs. That might seem like a lot, however that’s 1 million less than February 2020. This decline hasn’t been easy, but 2022 is proving to be a year of recovery for restaurants and hospitality.

      voodoo brewery franchise bar shot
We think everyone can agree: We miss getting ready to socialize, sipping a drink, and connecting with others. Think about all of the plans individuals had to cancel throughout the last few years. Everything from weddings, vacations, and their dinner plans for months. These experiences are an integral part of our lives and people everywhere are experiencing pent-up demand and are ready to start experiencing life again, and 2022 is the time to do it.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur or a beer connoisseur, now is a great time to start considering beer franchise opportunities and craft brewery business for sale, and here’s why:

      An Oversaturated Market,
      Becomes Unsaturated

Before the pandemic, there were more fast-casual restaurants and fast-food restaurants than you could count. They were filling up the neighborhoods and being the first choice for consumers because of the convenience. Individuals didn’t have time to sit down, step back, and relax with their friends at a restaurant. They wanted take-out, Postmates, and food was ready on the go.

Unfortunately, once the pandemic hit, many businesses had to close down because they couldn’t adapt to this to-go order lifestyle everyone had become accustomed to now. In fact, more than 110,000 restaurants and bars closed their doors in 2020. Before this all starts to depress you, we have some good news. People are tired of the take-out. They are done with eating dinner on the couch and no longer want to always be eating at their home. So the businesses that survived through the pandemic years are expected to have the strongest summer ever.

      Customers Miss The Experience

Don’t you too? Don’t you miss the taste of craft beer from a glass? The music, the bar food, the ambiance? People miss the experience of going out and enjoying a meal and a beer or two with their friends. They don’t want quick and easy. Instead, they want to slow down and enjoy the moment with the people they love. Restaurants and breweries provide the perfect atmosphere for them to do just that, and people more than ever are looking to sit down and enjoy themselves.

They Want to Make up For Lost Time

In 2020, 48% of Americans had to cancel their summer plans. We all spent more time in our homes than we ever wanted to. On top of that, individuals have tried every recipe they could find on Pinterest. They had their time experimenting in the kitchen (who remembers the baking bread phenomenon?) They’ve decided craft beer just doesn’t taste as great when they drink it from a can in their living room. They miss the experience that restaurants and breweries provide, and they want to make up for a lost time as soon as they can. Plus, I heard beer tastes better when it’s being served to you.

How this benefits Voodoo Brew Pub Franchise Owners

Once the weather starts looking better, the summer of 2022 will be a pivotal season for experiences, socializing, restaurants, breweries, and travel.

This summer provides a unique opportunity for future franchise owners. If you’re ready to open your location, there’s no better time than now to kickstart your career and own a Voodoo craft beer franchise. You’ll experience firsthand the joys of owning your own business, making people happy, and selling damn good beer. Plus, you don’t have to do any of this alone.

With Voodoo Brewing Co., you have a network of Franchise Owner support you can rely on to answer questions and guide you through the experience. We’ve spent the last 10 years perfecting our franchise business model, so you can benefit from what we offer and receive all the support you need to succeed.

If you’re ready to join in on the fun, experience the excitement of owning your own craft brewery, and be a local beer god: it’s time to get more information about starting your own beer franchise. Summer 2022 is just around the corner and we expect it to be the busiest season ever for our current franchise owners.

Craft Beer versus Mass Produced Beer: Why Craft is better for Customers and Owners

Craft Beer versus Mass Produced Beer: Why Craft is better for Customers and Owners

Craft Beer versus Mass Produced Beer: Why Craft is better for Customers and Owners

If you didn’t know: There are some significant differences between craft beer and mass-produced beer. If you can’t tell right off the bat from the taste and color: you should also know why craft is better for customers and owners.

Craft Beer Franchise owner versus regular row of beers

        So, Craft Beer Better?

Yes, in almost every way. (and we aren’t just saying that because we brew craft beer) Craft beer is craft for a reason: It takes years to perfect the taste, find the right ingredients, and deliver a high-quality experience every time. Craft beer isn’t mass-produced because if it was, it would lower the value of the beer.

Here are just a few distinct differences:

        Higher Quality Ingredients

Typically, beer only contains four ingredients. These ingredients include grains, hops, yeast, and water. There’s really not much to it! However, mass-produced beer doesn’t use the best of the best. They use the cheapest ingredients they can get their hands on. (because it’s mass-produced!) Local breweries usually invest in higher-quality ingredients that are organic or locally sourced.

You may be wondering: does this mean craft beer is healthier, right? Well… not exactly: but we like where your heads are at!

        Memorable Taste

The craft beer taste is rich, distinct, and bold. The minute a customer gets their hands on a craft beer they love, they always come back for more. They stop by their favorite brewery for a six-pack before the weekend or happy hour during the workweek. They know what they’re getting every time and look forward to the memorable taste, the memories they make, and how great they feel after the first sip.

        Support Local Business

Every time a consumer buys craft beer over mass-produced, they’re doing more than just contributing to the beer industry. They are supporting a local business and a member of their community. (How cool is that?)

        Voodoo beer franchise

Okay, So Why is Craft Better For Owners?

        We never thought you’d ask!

        Creates an Experience

We all know craft beer is about more than just craft beer. It’s about the food pairings, the laughs you share, and the brewery you go to. There is nothing like experiencing a crisp craft beer after work with friends, family, or coworkers. As an owner of a crafter beer franchise, you’ll be able to provide this experience and give them a little slice of happiness. (In the form of a beer!)

        Increase Brand Visibility

When you get your hands on a craft beer you enjoy, you remember the bottle art, the company, the logo, and everything in-between. It’s about more than just the great taste, it’s about the experience that beer provides.

When a customer falls in love with a craft beer, they fall in love with the brand behind the beer. They want to wear the t-shirt to match, get their hands on a branded koozie, and show their appreciation for your brand and beer. This will increase brand visibility and help get your beer in the hands of their friends, coworkers, and the people that see them in the store with your t-shirt on.

        Craft Beer Franchise Opportunities

If you like craft beer as much as we do, you may have considered starting your own craft beer franchise. However, it takes years to master the art of craft beer, and as a franchise owner, you shouldn’t need to worry about crafting a memorable taste for your community. (it would take the fun out of starting your own franchise!)

Franchise opportunities for people who hate Franchises

Franchise opportunities for people who don’t dig Franchises

Look, we get it. Franchises aren’t for everyone. They come with a range of new responsibilities that aren’t always the easiest to deal with, especially if you aren’t passionate about the business or business model.

Matt and Jake of Voodoo Brewing Co 'Franchises for people who don't dig franchises'
Look, we get it. Franchises aren’t for everyone. They come with a range of new responsibilities that aren’t always the easiest to deal with, especially if you aren’t passionate about the business or business model.

Of course, that’s until you’ve been introduced to the brewery franchise opportunities that Voodoo Brewing Co. has to offer.

Voodoo Brewing is for individuals who hate franchises but want to own and grow their own businesses. It’s for the ones who love a cold glass of craft beer but don’t necessarily want to brew it themselves. Or, to put things simply: it’s for the bold beer lovers: who are ready for their next adventure.

You may not think a franchise is for you, but that’s just because you haven’t found the right beer franchise for sale to change your mind.

If you aren’t sure if brewery franchise opportunities are right for you, here are a few reasons you should reconsider and choose Voodoo.

          Quality, craft beer

Let’s cut to the chase: our craft beer is damn good, and we’re damn proud to share it with you. With one sip, you’ll experience firsthand how great it is, and you’ll be excited to share it with everyone you know. Everything is taken care of by us, to ensure you can provide the same high-quality taste to your community.

          Get the support you need

          Never worry about corporate rules

Look, safety is important. However, there is no need to put any other corporate rules in place that aren’t regarding human safety. We’re different from those other franchises. We believe every Voodoo Brewing franchise is an extension of our company and deserves to stake its independence, explore creativity, and most importantly: have fun. When you partner with us, you never need to worry about corporate rules, only the safety of the individuals that work for you and visit your brewery.

          Say goodbye to the 9-5

Our beer franchise for sale is more than just a badass business model, it’s a lifestyle that is sure to enhance your life, not take away from it. That means you don’t need to work a 9-5 to be a successful franchise owner. With our resources, beer, and a little bit of motivation: you can do whatever you want with our franchise business model. How cool is that?

          Take the glory

Name one thing better than a great pint of beer. Don’t worry… we’ll wait. The truth is: Beer makes people happy! If you can deliver a high-quality taste to your hometown, you’ll be a hometown hero in our books. With our brewery franchise opportunities, you’ll be able to do more than just pursue your passion for owning a business. You’ll be able to make everyone in your community happy and provide them with one of the most refreshing glasses of beer they’ve ever had. What more could you ask for?

          The better and easier investment

We don’t like to talk numbers, so we’ll try to keep things simple and straight to the point. With Voodoo Brewing Co., the time and money you put into your investment are minimal, accessible, and exclusive. Almost everything you need to get started is included in the initial investment.

There aren’t any hidden fees you need to know about, and we don’t stop there. If we can help you make connections for local tap lines, a plumber, or gas: we got you! We want you to succeed more than anything, so it’s our mission to make the costs as low as possible, so you can increase your profits.

why voodoo is the anti-franchise franchise

          Minimal equipment

Some franchises really want you to be doing the most. With Voodoo Brewing Co., we only want you to do the minimum. That means you only need the minimum amount of equipment for your brewery. You won’t need to worry about big deep fryers or other expensive restaurant equipment. People come to you for one thing! So let’s keep things simple and focus on the true star of the show: our beer.

          Express your individuality

We believe every brew pub franchise location should have some individuality. If every Voodoo Brewery looked the same, what would be the fun in that? With more money in your pocket from the easy investment, you can invest more money into making your location your own. Make it cool and make it your own: we won’t be breathing down your next about any of that! We actually might end up just being jealous of how great your franchise location looks compared to ours!

          Ready to get started?

Our beer franchise for sale is different from the others on the market. Voodoo Brewing Co. is fun and unique. It provides an opportunity for you to connect with individuals: on a beer level. You’ll be a hometown hero: who doesn’t need to play by any corporate rules or worry about sacrificing your individuality to own a brewery you can be proud of.

If you still hate the idea of franchises… Well, we tried right? But if you are even slightly convinced this might be a great choice for you, what are you waiting for? Let’s put your entrepreneur skills to the test and give Voodoo a chance. Request more info today to learn more.

            Franchise Owner Michael Dapolite

            Franchise Owner Michael Dapolite

Meet New Franchise Owner Michael Dapolite

Meet Mike Dapolite, one of our newest Voodoo brewing franchise owners. He recently opened a location in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to the Voodoo family.

            voodoo brewery franchise bar shot

Mike has a degree in Business Management and has always had the itch to own a business of his own. He’s had some franchise experience in the past but was really searching for a positive atmosphere where he and his future employees can thrive. Outside of work, Mike enjoys anything and everything outside. From hiking and fishing to camping and quading: you name it!

We knew Mike was adventurous and was ready to start his next adventure with brewery franchise opportunities with Voodoo Brewing Co.!

            From Baked Goods to Brews

Mike Dapolite spent 19 years of his career with George Weston Bakeries as the Regional Sales Manager. After that, he spent 11 years as the Director of Operations for the City of Danbury Housing Authority. He’s not new to the franchise lifestyle: He’s previously owned several small businesses and one franchise. Now, he’s on to his newest adventure: starting his very own Voodoo Brewing.

“I have been a part-time entrepreneur for about 30 years. I have decided to find a business that I would truly enjoy working at every day and do it full time,” Mike said when we asked him why he wanted to become an entrepreneur.

Why he chose Voodoo Brewing Co.

Mike had been searching for a business to start or purchase that he would enjoy working at. He didn’t want just any ol’ business. He wanted a business he was passionate about. One he would enjoy working at, express his individuality, and create an unreal experience for his customers. He no longer wanted to be the part-time entrepreneur he had been for 30 years. He was ready to take the plunge and turn his passions and motivations into a full-time career.

That’s where our Voodoo brew pub franchise business model comes in. Our business model is unlike any other franchise you’ve ever seen. It’s crafted with the franchise owners in mind, with an “anti-franchise” mindset and tight operations. The Voodoo business model attracted Mike to learn more. He mentioned to us, “I believe that the personal interests of the company-owned employees will be an extremely valuable asset, and they pass along their experience and expertise to help get you started in the right direction.”

Mike then went on to say, “I believe most Franchises see you as a number and not a person. I believe Voodoo treats you like you are part of a team.” By this point, we knew Mike Dapolite was going to be a great addition to the franchise.

            Discovering Voodoo

We invited Mike to Voodoo Discovery Day. Where he got to meet the corporate team in person and see the breweries in action. During this time, he was able to connect with everyone on a different level and appreciate the passion we all have for Voodoo. “After Discovery Day is when I realized that I definitely wanted to be a part of this team,” Mike said. And we were happy to have him! Throughout the experience, he was able to connect with all of us on a deeper level and decide for himself if Voodoo Brewing was going to be a good fit.

There’s not a doubt in our minds that Mike will go on and be successful. After Discovery Day, we were also able to witness firsthand the passion and drive he has for life. We knew he was a great fit for our anti-franchise business model, and he’d do great things as a franchise owner.

Mike is ready to take on the experience and bring delicious brew to Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. With a bit of hard work, dedication, and support from the team at Voodoo, he’ll be able to take his career to new heights.

            Now It’s Your Turn

We can’t wait to see Mike’s Voodoo brewpub in action, and neither can he! He looks forward to creating a positive and creative atmosphere for his customers, employees, and himself to enjoy. Mike’s advice to future franchise owners, “Do your research for the area that you would like to open your brewery in and pick your location for business reasons (high volume and the right clients) vs personal reasons (closer to home, etc.)”
